Disha foundation was established to provide medical, social and emotional support to the families of the disabled persons and also empowers the disabled children to stand on their feet. The trust is actively involved in helping the needy outside the Belgaum city, Karnataka.
Presently, there are 11 differently-abled children who are suffering from Celebral Palsy and Epilepsy. Practitioners from a nearby Physiotherapy department visit the centre on a regular basis and engage children in brain development activities. Several children have been benefited from Disha foundation over the years.
In future, the NGO aims to identify intellectually able children and help them to be independent. Also, the institute plans to conduct awareness programmes to help people understand the significance of hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and cleanliness.
